I'm so happy with the way this community is growing and I know it won't be long before we hit 10,000 maybe 50,000 members. The more members we have the more fun this project will be. However, when that happens it will begin to be difficult to monitor the site.

I'm asking for all your cooperation in helping me keep the site clean and user friendly for everyone.

If you feel ANYONE is abusing the points system, or the site in anyway, please send me a private message. There are people of all ages, religious types, musical tastes and ethnic backgrounds and we want everyone to feel welcome.

If you identify any of the following, please let me know immediately. The offensive content will be removed (when possible), a warning will be issued, a second offense will result in a permanent ban from this community.

Keep your eyes out for the following:

*Inappropriate blog posts - vulgarity, or hateful remarks
*Offensive songs, videos, and photos.
*rude and offensive comments
*product advertising - sometimes we will allow people recommending products and resources here, but we don't want this to become all about advertising:) If you see something and you are not sure let me know.

Thanks to everyone in advance! We really appreciate all of you...

Keith

Hi Keith
I joined up a week ago and think this is a great idea and a great community.
Still feeling my way around but starting to feel at home.

Thanks

Hi Keith. I have a comment. I love your site and I don't want to be negative about any part of it. So, please take this as a suggestion. Recently I have received about twenty emails over a 2 day period on one topic that wasn't of interest to me personally. It's easy to delete them, but is there any way when 2 people carry on a back and forth conversation that it does not go to every other member (I am assuming) as it came to me. Grant. p.s. This is not a complaint about the site or any members, just a suggestion for your consideration.

Hello Grant
If you are talking about private messages in your Inbox -
Hit Reply and it will only send to the one you got it from.
Hit Reply All and it goes back to everyone on the original mail-to list.
I think that a lot of people hit the Reply All by mistake and don't
even realize it.

I just wished GPU would return back to how it was.......I think both Kieth and Drew have let the site go down....... Eg.... too many Videos by members that have nothing to do with guitar lessons, also too many new groups that just plain say the same thing.
Our community lost someone special when Artie left, he knew things were going south.
Finger's crossed for a new revamp of the site.

I agree with Peter about the video thing. It's gotten a bit out of hand. I suspect it's a points thing. I'd like to see a separate category for videos that had just members showing how they are progressing on guitar or offering lessons or their covers, etc. and another category that had the all other world wide plethora of videos. This way, the good stuff won't be drowned in a sea of whatever. But, I also think as members of the community, we need to help Keith and Drew make it as good as it can be...they have lives too and I'm sure they couldn't live off a GPU staff salary...:-). As the site grows larger, we will continue to get influences that will challenge the integrity of the site and push the limits...it's the natural order of things. As in any community, good members will come and go for different reasons (kind of like a band?). We can lament about it or see it as an opportunity for other members to step up. As members of the community, it's up to us to work together in deciding how to balance what is relevant to the site while respecting free expression to the members as musicians/artists, beginner to pro. GPU will go through many growing pains, but it's still the best source for guitar addicts. Slainte' Mhath, m.f.

Thanks to you Keith, for this site and your hard work to help us beginners. Looking forward to many satisfying hours on the site. Right now, I am mostly watching and reading the discussions, but soon I hope to know enough to actually make a contribution.
Till next time....
Johnny

Add some focus on bass guitars. I know that this site is for guitar but if you threw in some bass you will bring in the low end crowd and i can tell you from experiance thers nothing out there for us. Alot of people like me would be so greatfull just to have a spot somewhere on the net to chill and meet friends who share the same intrests in bass guitar.
Thanks guys love the site
