There's lots of groups on this site dedicated to male guitarists. How about we spend a little time recognising and celebrating all the great women guitarists out there.
Hi
Does anyone know the pattern for Kathy's song?
This is what i've figured out so far.
I dont know if these tabs will show correctly but i'll give it a try.

THanks for the information Jimmy. No need to apologise for anything. I didn't mean to suggest that you would simply use the pentatonic scales up and down, I meant the notes from those scales - didn't express myself very well. I'll check out Drew's video. In fact being the blues I wondered whether you used the blues scale instead. I noticed that someone else has posted some 'how to do blues lead' videos too, which I'll also check out.
Jimmy - thanks for the Ane Brun suggestion - I now have Live in Scandinavia - very beautiful - I love her unusual tone/intonation too.
By the way, I'd like to use the blues track in A minor that you've posted (thanks). How do you generally approach your practice when you're using it (can you guide me to some useful information). For example, it is a case of playing the A minor pentatonic patterns across it as you feel it fits? Maybe I'm too new. Any advice on where to start learning how to do this would be great.
Talk to you soon.
Michele
Hope you don't mind all these comments on you wall.
Alison Krauss & Union Station are great. I purchased 'New Favorite' - beautiful - great suggestion.
Thanks for the recommendations. I'll check them out. I also like the Dixie Chicks. You might like Nanci Griffith. I also suggest that you check out an album by called 'Tea for Three' by Saunders, Kan and Del and 'Stranger to your heart' by Jane Saunders three fabulous Australian country singers. Enjoy. Michele
Jimmy,
I haven't had the courage to post any videos of my playing yet. I'm practicing a few simple songs, 'Country roads (John Denver)' for example so that I can get over my shyness and track my own progress over time I guess. Your English is great (although I get that you may not be expressing yourself as well as you'd like). I have no Swedish and almost not other language skills besides English.
My favourites? - Indigo Girls, Waifs, John Butler, The Audrey's, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Brandie Carlilie, Eva Cassidy, Fruit, Patty Griffin, Ruthie Foster, (and lots more). Who are you into?
Hi Jimmy, We seem to have similar taste in music. I'll be looking out for your tips in the fingerpicking group. There are heaps of great groups so be sure to look around the site. See you around. Michele
Hey Jimmy, welcome to the site! We'll be adding more videos and lessons soon, so be sure to check things out and let us know what you think. Don't be afraid to ask questions or make suggestions, we're always open to them. Thanks for joining!
